I LOVE Facebook! Seriously! It has helped me reconnect with old friends and family I’ve lost touch with, as well as given me new ones to get to know. My husband even found an old friend from his days in the army.
Political pundits like Sarah Palin and Scott Brown have found a huge army of followers that encourage them and I believe reflect the opinions of millions of people.
Now the power of Facebook has possibly helped a much loved actress, Betty White, to be set as the host for Saturday Night Live. Over 425,000 members of a Facebook group known as Betty White to Host SNL (please?), have combined their individual voices into a collective wish to have the actress on SNL.
According to Michael Ausiello, with Entertainment Weekly, the group is “this close” to getting their wish.
Ms. White is 88 years old and going strong, however their is concern for her health in that the taping can be arduous. A “workaround” to getting her on SNL as host, has been created that would have her be part of a show called “Women of Comedy,” wherein she would co-host with other previous members of SNL such as Tina Fey, Molly Shannon and Amy Poehler.
Ausiello confirmed through an email that ” he is “100 percent certain” that “SNL” wants White as the centerpiece for the “Women of Comedy” episode.”
I loved Betty White in Golden Girls. I know she was in many other films, but that will always be one of my favorites. You could tell that she really enjoyed her co-workers and loved doing the part.
